One busy weekend down, three to go. Yesterday, Ansley and I traveled to Twin City to celebrate Adyn's birthday at the George L. Smith III State Park. While he turned 4 March 11th, the weather wasn't cooperating at that time, so the party was postponed until yesterday. Ansley had a great time visiting with family members we haven't seen in a month or so. We had the opportunity to see my younger brother's new house. It's a cute 3 bedroom, 2 bath home-- the perfect size for him, his fiancee, and her son. Tara has done a marvelous job cleaning out and redecorating the house. She has sorted out most of my dad's old paperwork (90% of which was safe to throw away/shred) and is turning the house into her home. It's already cleaner and brighter than it was when we all lived in it when we were young (high school age and younger).
This afternoon was the Logos Class Spring Picnic. Ansley enjoyed watching all of the big kids play as she became aquainted with grass and other outdoor textures. She wasn't a big fan of the grass at the beginning, but by the end of the picnic, she was anxious to be on the ground crawling about checking things out. She was a very tired little girl when we got home and put her to bed. I enjoyed chatting with different people that I haven't seen much lately. Our Sunday school class looks a lot different now than it did when it was started. When we began the class, every member was a young adult, most were married, and no one had any children. Well, I think one or two young wives were pregnant. Now, a good number of the couples have children, but there are still a number of childless couples. Basically, any adult (typically married) in their twenties or thirties would be comfortable in our Sunday School class. It helps that our members are very friendly and welcoming to visitors and new members.
This coming week is going to be busy grading papers, and getting things organized for the River North Communities' Yard Sale Saturday morning. I hope the scattered thundershowers that are predicted for Saturday travel through the area on Friday so we'll have good weather and many people will come out and shop.
